Positive Direction Both models show Planetary systems with two sun gears and two pairs of planetary gears which are frequently used for speed reduction. The fixed sun gear with 60 teeth has planetary gears rotating in an epicylic path while driving the 36 tooth planetary gears in turn drive the 72 tooth output gear for a speed ratio of 3:8. Changing the 60 and the 72 sun gears in Model # 63 causes a change of direction of rotation of the output shaft and the gear ratio, which for this model is 3:5.
