The design of all three double acting clutches (see also models # 19 and # 42) is similar. All Models illustrate the principles of clutching and declutchig in machine devices.The clutches couple the input and output shafts through two different gear-pairs. Thus the position of the operating lever determines the speed ratio in either of two positions. Indicators serve to illustrate speed and motion relationships involved in clutching operations, such as are found in a variety of industrial drives and automatic machines.
